Designed for STIEBEL ELTRON: MyStiebel App (2019)

The MyStiebel app controls all necessary information for the feel-good atmosphere at home. It's not the reproduction of technological functions, but the real needs of real people which are in the centre of our concepts. The app's scenes help to increase the efficiency of devices. Through a clear and simple interaction, the brand values of Stiebel Eltron come digitally alive. Thus, MyStiebel marks the big brand's start of a digital experience and design language.

Brand Driven Innovation

Stuttgart, 27 September 2019: Phoenix Design accompanied the international Conference for Digital Transformation on 25–26 September 2019 in Berlin with a speech and subsequent round of discussions. Together with its client STIEBEL ELTRON, Phoenix Design represented by Design Business Manager Felix Mattes showed how an initially small design project may end up transforming an entire company.

Digitization is not always about the latest technology. For us it’s a tool to make life easier, getting closer to humans. “Meaningful digitization for humans has always to consider our planet, too”, says Felix Mattes who drives the sustainability topic at Phoenix Design. Only when it contributes to protecting our ecosystem, can it be of importance to human beings in the long run. To think meaning-driven instead of tech-driven can make a huge impact in designing products and services, especially when it comes to handling complex systems.

Designing the award-winning MyStiebel App has only been the beginning of a close partnership with STIEBEL ELTRON who are dealing with intelligent and sustainable solutions in the area of heating and home technology, quite along the lines of the PHOENIX vision of "Smart Living". But what is really needed to not create just another App? Phoenix Design and STIEBEL ELTRON showed how changing the perspective can end up in the transformation of a whole organization re-inventing its brand for a closer customer relation.

With its first summit in Germany, boma as a global network helps companies to shape their future by making the ideas and tools for positive change both accessible and actionable. Felix Mattes, together with Dr. Nicholas Matten, CEO of STIEBEL ELTRON, contributed to this.
